A marriage service is a public declaration of love and commitment to your partner.

If you wish to marry at the Parish Church of Margaretting one of the marriage partners needs to be resident in the Parish. If you live outside the Parish boundary you can also be married at the Parish Church if a family member lives within the Parish.

If neither of these applies, you are given the option of joining the church Electoral Role. This does not require you to live in the Parish but it does require attendance at the church frequently for a period of six months.

Weddings at St. Margaret's are very special. They take place in a beautiful 15th century church in a rural and unspoilt area of Essex, at the end of a country lane beyond the railway. All church weddings have a special meaning and depth to them and when a wedding is held in a historical church, such as St. Margaret's, the surroundings add a further dimension of spirituality and beauty to the occasion.

If you decide you would like to be married here, then we will help you plan your service and spend time with you helping you to prepare for marriage and understand the special meaning of a church wedding.
